Complementary Specimens

In addition to PPMI, The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research (MJFF) has supported several clinical efforts that have generated valuable biospecimens and data resources for the research community. Qualified investigators may request samples from individual or multiple cohorts through MJFF’s Access Data & Biospecimens program.

For more information on the program and how to apply for access to these resources, visit the Access Data & Biospecimens page on the MJFF website. The table below provides details about these additional, complementary resources.

Cohort Population Research Intent DNA RNA CSF Whole blood or blood pellet Plasma Serum Urine Brain tissue Peripheral tissue Clinical Data
PPMI De novo, unmedicated PD and controls Biomarker validation and verification
24-Hour Biofluid Sampling Early to moderate PD and controls Diurnal biomarker fluctuation
Arizona Parkinson’s Disease Consortium Community cohort Clinical pathological correlations
BioFIND Moderate to advanced PD and controls Biomarker discovery
DATATOP Early, unmedicated PD Biomarker discovery and validation
