PPMI Participating in Upcoming Datathon

The tranSMART Foundation is hosting the Cross Neurodegenerative Diseases Datathon June 30 – July 2 in Boston.  Data scientists, biologists, and biostatisticians will use the tranSMART Platform to perform analyses across multiple public datasets in the neurodegenerative disease field, including PPMI, BioFIND, LRRK2, ADNI, and GEO PD.

The goal is to uncover links, correlations, and standard values across diseases.  For instance, a deeper understanding of the similarities and differences between Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s would help researchers working in both fields better define the biological mechanisms behind these diseases and identify potential biomarkers or therapeutic pathways.

If you are interested in participating in the datathon, please visit the event’s website, which includes registration information and webinars explaining the datathon and tranSMART Platform.

For those who cannot participate in the datathon, but are interested in comparing PPMI data to other datasets, visit Complementary Resources for a list of comparable Parkinson’s disease data and biospecimen resources.
