MJFF CEO Todd Sherer discusses PPMI in Medscape interview

Todd Sherer, PhD, Chief Executive Office of The Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, was recently interviewed by Medscape about PPMI and other promising PD research.  Dr. Sherer discusses the goal of PPMI, as well as the recent publication in JAMA Neurology using PPMI data that gives evidence of proteins in the CSF levels of which were lower in people with early PD compared with age- and gender-matched controls.  He also points out that the data collected from PPMI is publicly available to scientific researchers across the globe, and that the goal behind this level of access is to “increase the speed at which we can get answers and solutions.”
