Michael J. Fox: Study subjects ‘critical’ to finding better treatments

Michael J. Fox authors an op-ed piece to discuss the crucial need for PD and control volunteers for clinical studies. Fox believes study volunteers are as critical as scientists to the process of developing new treatments for diseases like Parkinson's. He discusses the need for more people to volunteer and how results can come more quickly when communities get involved.

Study finds that plasma EGF levels predict cognitive decline (Ann Neurol)

A recent study published in Annals of Neurology showed that plasma epidermal growth factor (EGF) levels correlated to cognitive test scores in PD patients, and may be used as a biomarker for cognitive decline in PD. Among the authors are several PPMI Steering Committee Members.
