PPMI Steering Committee Paper Accepted to Movement Disorders Journal

We are excited to announce a recent research article using longitudinal data from PPMI has been accepted to Movement Disorders.  Members of the PPMI Steering Committee, including Dr. Tanya Simuni of Northwestern University, authored this publication on behalf of PPMI.

The study, entitled Longitudinal Change of Clinical and Biological Measures in Early Parkinson’s Disease: Parkinson’s Progression Markers Initiative Cohort, analyzed change in clinical data in early, untreated PD over a five year period.  The study measured MDS-UPDRS scores and dopaminergic activity in 423 PD participants from PPMI.

This publication provides a first look into longitudinal MDS-UPDRS data and dopamine transporter outcomes.  It is a prime example of how PPMI provides the ability to examine clinical change in PD over time.
